ABSTRACT

The project objectives were (1) to develop and implement a knowledge management database platform, taking into account the requirements of industrial organisations relating to cooperation with research institutes within an Open Innovation model; (2) to eliminate the barriers to the cooperation of scientists and research organisations during research project planning and performance, and (3) to provide research organisations with the tools enabling them to intensify their cooperation with industry in line with the Open Innovation approach. The main project result was the development and implementation of an information system (platform) supporting network cooperation between research organisations and industrial partners and increasing the effectiveness of the management of highly complex R&D processes.

TECHNOLOGY PARTNERS’ ROLE IN THE PROJECT

Project coordination. The result of the project was the creation of a comprehensive database of projects, publications, technologies, services offered by 15 RTOs and linking these to profiles of the institutes and over 1000 scientists employed by them. The work consisted of platform design (including system requirements analysis, general model development and information architecture design) and construction (including pre-implementation analysis) – in cooperation with all project partners (Polish R&D Institutes) and system implementation (including software implementation and modifications), testing (including verification of the initial functional assumptions) and administration (including end users training).
