IDEA
Market transformation
Poland’s system transformation and EU accession process revealed that many Polish research and technology organisations (RTOs) were too narrowly focused and did not co-operate with each other enough to tackle interdisciplinary challenges of European industry.
Advising the RTOs
In the late 1990s, as representative of the Arthur D. Little international research consultancy, Dr Tomasz Kośmider and the future TECHNOLOGY PARTNERS team led several projects aimed at assisting the RTOs in strategy reformulation and implementation.
Establishing TECHNOLOGY PARTNERS
In 2001 Dr Kośmider convinced eight RTOs to join forces to create the TECHNOLOGY PARTNERS Consortium with the aim of generating interdisciplinary projects in areas of common interest. The TECHNOLOGY PARTNERS Foundation with Dr Kośmider as President was set up shortly thereafter as a legal body to represent the Consortium.

GROWTH
Working for high-profile industrial clients
One of the first successes of TECHNOLOGY PARTNERS was the establishment of contacts with AIRBUS, which led to a long-term co-operation and several joint research projects. TECHNOLOGY PARTNERS played the role of General Contractor, defining the scope of interdisciplinary projects the partners could offer together, creating appropriate teams and managing them, taking responsibility for the work performed.
Participating in Framework Programmes and European bodies
TECHNOLOGY PARTNERS also became an active participant of the FP7 and H2020 programmes and a member of such European associations as the European Association of Research and Technology Organisations (EARTO) and Knowledge4Innovation (of which TECHNOLOGY PARTNERS is a founding member), with Dr Kośmider becoming Board Member and Vice President of these organisations, respectively.
TODAY
Creating durable networks
TECHNOLOGY PARTNERS is a trusted partner of leading European and Polish RTOs and Industry, fulfilling its mission of supporting the Polish science and technology sector’s international cooperation activities.
Building a committed Team
The work of Dr Kośmider, who sadly passed away in July 2017, is continued by the team which has since been augmented by new skilled, open-minded persons who believe that the best results are attainable through ensuring diversity, network cooperation and hard work.
Innovating the Future
We believe our growing partner network, talents employed and commitment will provide industry with innovative solutions and will increase the Polish contribution to European research.
